Patient consultation with Dr Dhaliwal at Regen Health Physicians NYC office

Choosing a regenerative medicine physician is a significant decision. At Regen Health Physicians NYC, we want every patient to arrive informed, comfortable, and confident about what their first visit will involve. Dr. Ajit Dhaliwal and our team have designed a consultation process that is thorough, patient-centered, and entirely focused on building a personalized path to better health.

Before Your Appointment

Preparing for a Productive Consultation

We recommend gathering the following before your visit:

  • Recent laboratory results: Any blood work from the past 6–12 months, including metabolic panels, hormonal tests, imaging reports, or specialist notes
  • Medication and supplement list: Including dosages
  • Medical history summary: Prior diagnoses, surgeries, procedures, and relevant family history
  • Your goals and primary concerns: Written ahead of time so we can prioritize discussion time effectively

If you do not have recent labs, don't worry — we will order comprehensive testing as part of the new patient process.

Scheduling

New patient consultations are available in-person at our NYC location. You can book online or call us at (929) 577-4222. We also serve patients in Salt Lake City at (385) 442-7744.

What Happens During the Consultation

Your first visit with Dr. Dhaliwal typically lasts 60–90 minutes. This extended consultation is intentional — regenerative medicine requires understanding the whole patient, not just the presenting complaint.

Comprehensive History

Dr. Dhaliwal begins with a detailed conversation covering your primary concerns, symptom timeline, prior treatments, energy levels, sleep quality, cognitive function, hormonal health, and lifestyle. We ask about stress, nutrition, exercise, and relationships — all of which provide clinically meaningful context.

Physical Examination

A targeted physical examination follows, focused on the systems relevant to your presentation. This may include musculoskeletal assessment, neurological screening, skin evaluation, body composition assessment, and vital sign review.

Review of Existing Data

Any imaging, prior labs, or specialist reports you bring are reviewed and integrated into Dr. Dhaliwal's clinical picture.

Goal Setting

We ask every patient to articulate their priorities. Some want to eliminate chronic pain. Others seek weight loss support, hormonal balance, hair restoration, skin rejuvenation, or a comprehensive longevity workup. Knowing your goals ensures we build the right protocol — not a generic one.

The Laboratory Evaluation

Based on the consultation, Dr. Dhaliwal orders a targeted laboratory panel. RHPNY's comprehensive new patient workup may include:

  • Metabolic health: Fasting glucose, fasting insulin, HbA1c, lipid fractions, liver and kidney function
  • Inflammatory markers: High-sensitivity CRP, ESR, ferritin
  • Hormonal assessment: Testosterone (total and free), DHEA-S, estradiol, progesterone, FSH, LH, thyroid panel (TSH, free T3, free T4, thyroid antibodies), cortisol pattern
  • Nutritional status: Vitamin D, B12, folate, magnesium, zinc, iron studies
  • Cardiovascular risk: ApoB, Lp(a), homocysteine
  • Biological age markers: Depending on the program, telomere length and epigenetic clock assessments may be added

Labs are drawn in-office or at a local lab, and results are typically available within 5–7 business days.

Your Personalized Treatment Plan

When lab results are complete, Dr. Dhaliwal presents a comprehensive treatment plan during a follow-up visit (in-person or video). This plan integrates clinical findings with your goals and may include:

  • Regenerative interventions: PRP, Muse stem cell therapy, or exosome treatment for joint, hair, or aesthetic concerns (see our regenerative medicine program)
  • Hormone optimization: Bioidentical hormone therapy, thyroid support, adrenal protocols
  • Peptide therapy: Targeted peptides for recovery, immune function, weight management, or longevity
  • Nutritional and lifestyle medicine: Specific dietary recommendations, supplementation protocols, and exercise guidance
  • Chronic disease management: Integrative approaches for metabolic syndrome, autoimmune conditions, or chronic pain (see our chronic disease program)
  • Aesthetics: PRP facial, microneedling, collagen stimulation (see our aesthetics services)
  • Hair restoration: PRP scalp therapy or advanced hair restoration for hair thinning or loss (see our hair restoration program)

Ongoing Care and Monitoring

Regenerative medicine is not a one-visit proposition. Dr. Dhaliwal monitors each patient's progress through scheduled follow-up appointments and serial lab testing, adjusting protocols as your biology responds and your goals evolve.

Most patients are seen monthly for the first 3–6 months, then quarterly for ongoing management. We are available between visits for questions and to address any concerns that arise.
